CIGAR HYGROMETER

A damaging amount of humidity can cause cigars to be ruined rather quickly. In comes the Cigar Hygrometer.

Cigars should be kept at optimum humidity levels. Never too dry and never too moist. An area of 72% Humidity is best, but can range between 68% and 74%. The room temperature should be around 64  degrees Fahrenheit.

There are a few types of hygrometers, depending on what your preferences are. There is the Analog Hygrometer, which has a nice look for cosmetics and comes as three types.

The first type is the  Analog  Hygrometers that come with a metal spring, which are the easiest to calibrate.

The other types are the hair type hygrometers, which  come the closest to actual humidity and are extremely accurate. The two types of hair hygrometers are the natural hair and synthetic hair. Both are  extremely accurate, but the synthetic hair requires less calibration and maintenance.

The metal spring analog hygrometer functions with a coiled spring and is sensitive to the humidity in the are. A needle would move across a scale on the face of the hygrometer showing the humidity.

A metal spring cigar hygrometer is not as  expensive as the hair type hygrometers, and not nearly as accurate. For accuracy, either type of hair cigar hygrometer would be best.

Adorini is a good choice for a hair type humidor, but they can be hard to find and a bit pricey.
